Our fleet of dinghies is very active, either through the organised racing or 'free sailing'.
The club currently owns a Wayfarer, Laser (with radial and full rigs), 2 Laser Picos and a Comet, all for members' use. Two Lasers recently sold will soon be replaced with one in better condition.
These craft are at the disposal of all members to further their enjoyment of the Club and its environment. Please treat this expensive Club equipment (as with all Club property) with respect and consideration. A logbook for use of the boats must be entered whenever the boats (Wayfarer, Picos, Laser, Comet) are used. Sign-in with notes of any damage prior to use. Sign-off with note of any damage occasioned.
Misuse or reckless use may lead to the withdrawal of the privilege of use of any of these boats.
Boats are available on a first come first served basis each day and may not be booked in advance except by Officers for training purposes. If another member wishes to use a dinghy the use of that dinghy by the first user shall be limited to two hours. Please also note:
We also own two rescue boats. They are available for use by members for use as a tender when conditions are poor or for carrying heavy loads. Anyone wishing to use a rescue boat must have attended our Powerboat/Rescue course. For any other type of use please check with an Officer first. Rescue boats will not be available for general use when they are required for rescue boat duty.
